Community Outreach
We welcomed special guest Bethanie Barber, Attorney Executive Director with Legal Aid Society, to hear more about the organization's mission and present four wall hangings that will be hung in their lobby. Legal Aid Society serves between 6,000 and 20,000 people per year, supporting anyone who needs it - foster children, military veterans, domestic abuse survivors, and more receive services from Legal Aid Society.
Our Festival of Trees Quilt is complete! Thank you to all who participated.
Announcements & Upcoming Events
The Modern Quilt Guild's theme for 2026 will be "Use the Fabric" - check the main MQG website for upcoming programming relating to that theme!
Tshirts have arrived! If you were not at the meeting to pick up your shirt, let us know how you would like to receive it.
Our exhibit up at downtown library through January 7! Come see 36 quilts and a dozen or so other items in cases. Please let Ellen know if you can help with taking the exhibit down on January 8 or 9. We will be doing a group field trip to see the quilts at 11:30 on Friday, December 12 followed by lunch at Relax Grill.
If you are attending the retreat - you can begin setting up at 6pm on Thursday, and can wait until Monday morning to pack up. Priscilla shared a handy document to help with what to pack for our retreat (or any future retreat you attend!) You can view the document here.
Remember to make your potholders for the exchange at our December meeting! Try to stick with neutral or "winter" themes and remember to make them heat safe (no polyester batting, use Insulbright or multiple cotton layers).
We have filled all 3 spots on our Election Committee. If you are interested in an officer position, especially President, Treasurer, or Secretary, please let Karol Evans, Pam Edwards, and Love Sullivan know!
Treasurer Report
Most of our income is from the retreat and shirts, that money will zero out when we pay for the retreat room and order the shirts.
Membership renewal will kick off in December. Please renew on or before March 1 - if you renew later, we have to remove you from the roster with the national MQG, and it is a bigger effort to have you added back later due to the way their computer system is set up.
Programming - Colorful Quilting with member Cara Dobrev
Cara shared an abridged version of her library presentation from this summer. It's amazing to see what can be done in playing with hue and value!

Laura will hand out a survey next month to help with education ideas for next year! Be thinking about what classes you would want to take and what instructors you would like to learn from.
