Photo Policy

Effective Date:  January 29, 2025

The Orlando Modern Quilt Guild (the Guild) has an “opt-out” photo and video policy. Therefore, photos and videos may be taken and published of any individual unless a written statement requests otherwise. 

 

Publishing of photos and videos includes, but is not limited to, posting on the Guild website and Guild controlled social media, inclusion in emails, and inclusion in print media. Publishing does not include photographs taken by members and published on their personal social media account or the members only Facebook page to which individual members may post.

 

Published photos and videos will adhere to the following guidelines:

1. The Guild will not knowingly publish any image of an identifiable person that is defamatory, an invasion of privacy, or falsely depicts a person in a negative light.

2. The Guild will not publicly share photographs of minor children without express written permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3. Adults may be identified by first name in photos and videos.

4. The Guild will honor reasonable requests to remove or obscure identifiable individuals depicted in photos or videos posted on the website or social media accounts controlled by the Guild.

5. Express written consent will be obtained by all identifiable persons in a photo or video prior to use for fundraising purposes.

A member may opt out of Guild photographs and videos at any time by sending a written statement to orlandomodernquiltguild@gmail.com The statement must include the member’s full name and the extent to which they wish to opt out of photos.  (i.e. A member may choose to allow photos, but to not be identified by name in them.)
