Announcements & Upcoming Events
Reminder that the 15 15 Challenge is due NEXT MONTH! We can't wait to see what you've made!
If you plan to attend QuiltCon and haven't booked your lodging yet, consider doing it now. Hotels are filling up!
QuiltCon registration is coming up August 20. If you plan to register, make sure your account is ready to go on the Modern Quilt Guild website (the website for our parent organization, not the website you are reading these minutes on). If you are having issues reach out to Ellen - but do it sooner than later!
Information is now available for our retreat! Visit the event page to learn more. Please call the hotel to book and let Priscilla know if you have any issues.
Our August Sewcial will be on a weekend this month! Come see us at Achilles Art Cafe.
We will be featured at the Orlando Public Library downtown in October and November. We will be looking for quilts to put on display. Submit your quilt here.
We are also looking for a committee to help - let Ellen know if you can help select quilts to display or hang quilts at the library.
We will be creating another t-shirt order soon - we heard you, v-neck options will be available in black and white. More to come!
Treasurer's Report
Posted and viewable (see link to presentation at the top of the minutes). New this year are the retreat charges to members and the charge by the hotel for the ballroom; we anticipate this will zero out.
Education
Bradie's class is full! If you can no longer make it, let us know! You are still welcome to join the waitlist and we will let you know if a spot comes available.
Programming - Project Management for Quilters with Arielle Lindsey

Arielle shared her methods for keeping her patterns organized and staying on top of her projects! Arielle is a brand new member (and new quilter!) but she has been sewing for over 20 years and has a minor in Fashion Design from SCAD. Arielle is happy to share a template to help you get organized - reach out to her to request it! Contact information is in the directory.
Community Outreach
Doreen shared the story of one of Grace Medical Home's first patients, who made a quilt top for us to complete!

Kits for legal aid were passed out today.
If you want to support efforts in Texas, check out the call for blocks Poppy Block on our website. We will make this our October Block of the Month.
Festival of Trees fabric was purchased today! Get excited!
Education Basket
Ashley (and Violet) Gottshalk won this month's basket!

BOM
Jane won this month's BOM!

Next month's block is a Modern Disappearing Nine Patch. Look how creative you can be with the blocks!

Reminder - if you have a BOM idea - feel free to share it with Nancy!
